Day 1 of the tour started with a successful ascent of the Breithorn (4164m), one of the Zermatt region's 4000m peaks. (L-R Garth Pinter, Neville Mallett, Scott Tyler) The famous Matterhorn is jutting up between Neville and Scott. Dent Blanc is the peak to the right of Scott and far in the background to the left is the snow capped Mont Blanc massif, where our tour will finish. An Italian group is descenting from the Breithorn roped and on foot to the left. They are jjust to the right of the Klein Matterhorn (upper docking station for the highest Tram in the area).
