All smiles from Neville Mallett, Scott Tyler and Garth Pinter, having worked our way though a whiteout mid-way down the Vallee Blanche descent. With luck on our side, we broke under the cloud layer before having to make our way down through the Serac du Geant icefall. It was a sad sight to see the crumbling deminished state of Serac du Geant since 2000. Record setting summer temperatures in Europe combined with numerous low snow years is having a devestating effect of the European glaciers.
