Noosa – Race Prep WK2 (Sun)

Additional Session – since M-W-F provides no benefit for race preparation.

Warm Up:  800m

  • 300 FS Pull
  • 300 BK Pull with Paddles
  • 200 IM Drill by 50’s

Set 1:  EN-1 1100m (50 Recov)

  • 5 x 100 FS on 1:45, swim <1:30
    (all 1:25-1:27)
  • 3 x 100 BK on 2:00, swim <1:45
    (1:41-1:45)
  • 3 x 100 IM on 2:00, swim <1:45
    all pushing or over 1:45 due to overheating
    Pool temp in excess of 84F making training at
    even Base Aerobic level USELESS
  • 50 Easy

Set 2:  RP 1000m

  • 5 x 200 FS on 3:15, swim <3:00
    #1 2:55, left on 3:15
    #2 3:01 – overheating switch to 3:30 to allow cooling
    3, 4 and 5 swum 3:02, 3:01, 2:58 on 3:30

Swim Down:

  • Only 50m Easy since Lap swim is only 1 hour

The excessivly hot pool is going to make proper training next to impossible
and likely triggering medical difficulties in someone.
