PSP Changes to CF Swimming @ Borden

As of  Monday 15-Oct-2012 PSP announcement,

1. CF Swim Training @ Borden CUT to two 1-hr sessions per week (Wed-Fri) – Monday sessions cancelled. Two hours per week of training for a CF National Sport!? Apparently the sessions are now Tues/Thurs for CF.

2. Civilians are barred from practice those would be the civilians that have been voluntarily running the program, providing program continuity and training benefits for the CF swimmers for many years. Oh yes, and paying facility use/membership fees.

30-Nov-2012 – no progress has been made on this issue. The changes have all but killed the CF Swim Team program. One would think revenue from the civilians running the program would be a positive in times of budget cuts. Haven’t received a single comment on this ‘sticky’ post in over six weeks.  If you are looking at these workouts, let me know. I am thinking of shutting it down to private subscriber viewing only or just getting rid of it and the BEAST web site entirely.

I’ve been thinking about joining. I use to swim years ago and would love to get back into it. It seems like the prospects are too good as of late (from above comments). What’s going on? Anything over the holidays for civilians?

Hi Dave – there has been no progress re Civilians returning to swimming during the morning practices. Over the holidays, the weekend afternoon open 1-hr lane swims have been cancelled. There will be some ‘noon’ swims as noted in 17th Dec post that (so far) civilians can continue to attend – but those aren’t team practices – just swim time for those with full memberships. Sorry – no good news.
