2008 Canadian Masters Swimming Championship - University of Laval Pool, Quebec City 16 - 19 May
Day 2 - 17 May:
- A sample of the warm-up conditions.
- Men's 100m Backstroke - Don in Heat 12, Lane 6.
- Men's 100m Breaststroke - Don in Heat 13, lane 3 ... quite a comedy ... didn't hear the "a vous mark" and then stopped on the first length after hearing three sharp whistles (that came from some joker in the stands).
- Men's 100m Freestyle - Don in Heat 24, Lane 3 ... a PB swim of 1:04.40 with splits [15.0, 16.5, 16.3, 16.6].

2008 World Masters Swimming Championship - Challenge Stadium, Perth Australia 17- 25 April
Day 2 - 19 April:
- Men's 100m Freestyle Heat 39 - Don Bauer Lane 4, Martial Rivard (CAMO) Lane 5 ... Don won the heat in 1:06.79 (for 48th place out of 89 in Men 45-49) and Martial finished in 1:07.70 (for 51st place).
- Women's 100m Breaststroke Heat 31 - Martina Brankovsky Lane 3 and Wendy Buckner Lane 4. It was a really close race between our two TOMS swimmers with Martina finishing in 1:37.95 (for 28th in the Women 45-49) and Wendy in 1:38.81 (for 31st). Photos to come ...
Day 4 - 21 April:
- Men's 50m Freestyle Heat 46 - Murat Ozuak Lane 5 (Galatasaray Sport Club, Turkey), Don Bauer Lane 6 ... Murat won the heat in 29.20 seconds (for 45th place out of 101 in Men 45-49) touching out Don by 17/100 (29.37 for 49th place). The announcer mistakenly calls the heat a win for Canada.
- Men's 50m Freestyle Heat 48 - Ralph Rieper Lane 0 ... 28.70sec for 35th in Men 45-49.
- Men's 50m Breaststroke Heat 32 - Don Bauer Lane 5 ... wins the heat in 37.77 for 23 place out of 51 in Men 45-49.
- Women's 50m Breaststroke Heat 37 - Martina Brankovsky Lane 4 ... wins the heat in 43.78 for 23rd place out of 56 in Women 45-49.
Day 6 - 23 April:
- Men's 100m Backstroke Heat 20 - Ralph Rieper Lane 9, Don Bauer Lane 8 ... Ralph finishes in 1:16.79 for 17th place out of 33 in Men 45-49, Don swims 1:17.92 for 19th spot. We are one for one now in our friendly head to head competition. Nice of the organizers in Perth to put us side by side again.
Day 7 - 24 April:
- Men's 50m Backstroke Heat 28 - Don Bauer Lane 8 35.96 seconds for 22nd out of 30 in Men 45-49.

2007 Canadian Masters Swimming Championship - Winnipeg 18-21 May 2007
The thirtieth Canadian National Championship meet was held in the beautiful Winnipeg Pan Am Pool complex, organized by the Manitoba Masters Aquatic Club and Masters Swimming Manitoba. Racing took place in the deep and fast 25m end of the main tank.
