Taper – Plan

The plan is a 21 day Taper starting Mon 14-Jul.

This is specific to a 50 ‘drop-dead’ sprinter (male) that historically has had good results with a three week taper. And the workouts are oriented primarily to Backstroke (in order of importance – 50, 100, 200m) with secondary focus on 50’s of FS and BR.

Week 1 and 2 are generally 30-40% of Total Volume going to each of EN-1 (Aerobic) and Recovery … and then a split of the remainder going to Race Pace and LAP (Lactic Acid Production) and Power work. Week 1 volume is set to 80% of the last Week of Race Prep … Week 2 is 50%. Week 3 drops a lot.
